Surprise Someone

There are very few people on the planet who prompt me to get up at 3:00 a.m. on a Saturday and drive 200 miles just to surprise them when they arrive at their beat-the-heat visit to the park. But, Macie is one of them. I only wish the whole world could've seen the smile that broke across her face like a sunrise breaking across the horizon when she first caught a glimpse of me, because, if they could have, they would understand the heart impact that awaits the giver and recipient of the gift of a surprise visit.

Chances are there’s someone in your life right now whose heart would dance at the unexpected sight of you, the sound of your voice, or an unsolicited invitation from you to “come out and play.” Maybe it’s an old friend or former colleague you’ve fallen a bit out of touch with, a parent, sibling, or relative you've been promising to make time for, or just someone you sense could use a reminder that they're cherished, missed, and worthy of the sacrifices involved with paying them a surprise visit.
