Frostbitten, But Not Lost
"Forget what we’re told, before we get too old.
Just show me a garden that’s bursting into life.”
Chasing Cars – Snow Patrol
The more time I spend basking in the radiance, authenticity, simplicity, and joyfulness of this little girl’s unworldly-adorned heart, the more convinced I become that the answers to many of our very “adult” problems and the keys to our having any hope of living and loving more whole and open-heartedly reside there.
The good news is, a heart not unlike hers accompanied all of us into this world, and while that same world later intervened and “insisted” we stick those acoustic pieces of us in a deep freeze, like the remnants of a gourmet meal, they're still in there somewhere waiting patiently for us to begin the thawing out process, so that they can once again burn bright.
The challenge is to find our way back, which is why, coincident with the upcoming release of my new book, Retune Your Heart, I plan to spend as much time as 2025 (and local booksellers and conference organizers) will allow sharing my conviction with all who will listen and, hopefully, inspiring hundreds, if not thousands of hearts to embrace this life-altering perspective.
